Wall Panels Installation Guide

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Wall panels
  • Tape measure
  • Spirit level
  • Pencil

FOR INSTALLATION WITH SCREWS

  • 15 (3.5 x 35mm) Screws per panel
  • Screwdriver or drill
  • Wall anchors (if fixing to drywall)
  • Hammer (for anchors, optional)

FOR INSTALLATION WITH ADHESIVE

  • Grab adhesive
  • Painter’s tape (optional)

CHOOSING BETWEEN THE TWO METHODS

  • Screws: This method is ideal if you want a more permanent solution with extra strength, especially for heavier panels or if you need to remove the panel later without damaging the wall.
  • Grab Adhesive: This method is a cleaner option that avoids visible hardware, perfect for lightweight panels or if you want a seamless look without screws.

PLAN AHEAD

  • Remove all fixtures from the wall
  • Make sure the wall is clean of any dust or grease
  • Decide on your layout and prepare your panels

FIXING WITH SCREWS

  1. Mark the panel’s location on the wall with a tape measure and pencil, and use a level to ensure it's straight.
  2. Locate studs with a stud finder and mark screw spots; if mounting on drywall, use wall anchors.
  3. Mark screw locations on the back of the panel, ensuring they align with wall markings.
  4. Install any mounting hardware on the panel, such as picture hangers or keyhole brackets.
  5. Line up the panel with the wall and secure it with screws, tightening with a screwdriver or drill.
  6. Check the panel is secure and level after installation.

FIXING WITH GRAB ADHESIVE

  1. Measure and mark the panel’s position on the wall using a tape measure, pencil, and level.
  2. Prepare grab adhesive as per the manufacturer's instructions to ensure it is well-mixed.
  3. Apply a thin, even layer of adhesive on the back of the panel, focusing on the edges and centre.
  4. Align the panel with your marks, press it firmly, and ensure it’s level.
  5. Use painter’s tape if needed to hold it in place while the adhesive sets.
  6. Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours.
